For the past hundred years, there has been one brand that has been mentioned in the timepiece industry as an epitome of excellence and great reputation. This brand is Bulova and was created by Joseph Bulova who was a founder of jewelry store in the year eighteen seventy five (1875). He came to America from Bohemia at the age of twenty three years and by year Ninety twenty, his timepiece has been the major household names as far as wristwatches is concerned.  Not America alone, the brand has been recognized worldwide as product of fine qualities made with very good materials. Above all, all the products from this store last longer than any other brands.

Bulova watches are done with high quality. The materials used are premium quartz, hardened gold and stainless steel. The watches are usually completed with leather stripe to be used to hold it to the wrist. The high precision put on the timepiece production ensures accuracy of up to ninety five percent. The watch can keep time accurately for a year with an error of just one minute. Those expensive ones are fortified with some well cut diamonds and these types have bands made of gold chains. The inexpensive type will still have leather band but are very practical, sporting type and cost very less.

And talk of the innovation behind this brand of timepiece, it is based on Accutron movement; tuning forks resonation. This means it uses tuning forks resonation to regulate itself to keep its time function. Two electromagnetic coils at the top of the clock sandwiched the tuning fork and are responsible for driving it. Instead of ticking like the normal clock, the Accutron timepiece only gives a small, high pitch tone.

Still on Accutron wristwatches, the first product was made in 1960 and has round 214 movements. The distinct feature of this product is that both its stem and crown were designed to be under the back instead of the side as obtainable in those standard timepieces. The next model was 218-movement where the stems and crown were not positioned at the normal standard 3 o’clock but at 4 o’clock position. “Accuquartz” was made in 1973 and has full sized 224 movements. The diameter of reading surface is in the range of 28 to 30 millimeters while women’s types are smaller than this (in the range 19 to 20 millimeters). The model Spaceview Accutron was the first wristwatch to be produced in mass and was of the 214 movements’ types.

Another distinct feature of this great man’s Accutron product is that any part can be replaced with an older or newer model type. The repair needs to be done by experienced jewelers who can easily get the spare parts.
